He began his turf career forty years ago working at Wellesley Country Club. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts with a plant and soil science Degree, specializing in turf, he continued working on golf courses as assistant superintendent at both Edgartown Golf Club and the Oak Hill Country Club, in Fitchburg. He also worked for several landscape firms around the Boston suburbs before beginning his own company in 1988.
